How You'll Contribute:

Provides audiovisual support, documentary field production, live broadcast coverage, and archival preservation of significant government activities. Combines technical expertise, creative storytelling, and operational flexibility to deliver high-quality live and recorded media that meets broadcast and archival standards. Senior candidates also mentor junior staff.

What You'll Do:

  • Operate/lead camera crews for major events and multi-camera shoots involving senior officials for sensitive documentation.
  • Provide live video coverage for open press events, ensuring footage is streamed and archived by government standards.
  • Capture candid footage with narrative continuity and historical accuracy; adapt to real-time developments and security protocols.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain broadcast-quality AV equipment in studio and remote environments.
  • Support live event switching, camera direction, AV signal processing, and troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate live feeds and secure transmissions; ensure content meets technical standards for broadcast and archival retention.
  • Catalog, edit, and archive media using proper metadata per NARA guidelines; conduct quality reviews and advise on workflow improvements.
  • Respond to AV support requests within two hours, including surge support for unplanned events and emergencies.

What You'll Bring:

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of active interim security clearance and ability to obtain/maintain active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's in Film/TV Production, Broadcast Journalism, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 5 years' experience with live event AV setup and camera direction and as a professional videographer in documentary, news, or live broadcast settings.
  • Experience in broadcast/cinema camera operation and live broadcast, with technical skills in troubleshooting, media archiving, lighting, audio, and multi-camera setups.
  • Ability to manage sensitive coverage and possess the strong communication skills needed interact with senior officials.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Experience in TV/Film documentaries.
  • Knowledge of post-production tools (Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve).
  • Knowledge of archival video standards and metadata management.
  • Familiarity with federal event protocols and secure workflows.
  • Work Schedule & Requirements:
  • Monday-Friday, flexible shifts (7:00 AM-7:00 PM)
  • On-call coverage for evenings, weekends, holidays.
  • Fully on-site at a secure federal facility in the Washington D.C. area.
