Base pay range $62,400.00/hr - $104,000.00/hr The Fleet and Tool Manager is responsible for overseeing the company's fleet vehicles and tools, ensuring they are safe, well-maintained, and properly allocated to support field operations. This role involves managing inventory, coordinating maintenance and repairs, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and supporting cost-effective operations. Responsibilities: Manage the maintenance of company vehicles. Ensure all vehicles meet DOT, OSHA, and company safety requirements. Maintain accurate inventory of tools and equipment across all job sites and the warehouse. Develop and implement tracking systems to monitor tool usage and reduce loss or damage. Ensure tools are regularly inspected, calibrated, and serviced. Evaluate tool needs for projects and coordinate procurement accordingly. Work with service providers and vendors for maintenance, repairs, and equipment purchases. Negotiate pricing and service agreements to maximize value. Assist in developing and managing fleet and tool budgets. Prepare reports on fleet and tool utilization, costs, and performance metrics. Supervise and train field staff on proper usage, care, and reporting procedures for vehicles and tools. Coordinate the rental of tools and equipment as needed to support project demands. Manage relationships with rental vendors and ensure timely pickup, return, and billing accuracy. Track rental usage and evaluate cost-effectiveness compared to owned assets. Promote a culture of safety and accountability. Hire, develop, and manage warehouse employees. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 5+ years of experience in fleet and/or tool management, preferably in construction or a related industry Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, safety standards, and compliance regulations Familiarity with tool tracking and inventory management systems Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fleet management software Valid driver’s license Ability to lift and move tools/equipment up to 50 lbs Willingness to travel to job sites and company locations as needed Ability to work in a warehouse or outdoor environments in varying weather conditions Location: SF Bay Area (Corporate office located in San Jose, CA) Axis Mechanical is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE AA M/F Vet/Disability).
