The Housekeeping Manager (HM) works with the Executive Housekeeper to supervise the housekeeping and laundry operation to ensure product quality standards are met and that optimum service is provided to hotel guests according to hotel and company business objectives. This is the onsite lead supervisory job in the housekeeping department. The Housekeeping Manager may supervise or provide leadership to 10-30 housekeeping department workers. This position will perform cleaning duties to all areas of the hotel. In addition to keeping the entire hotel clean, the Housekeeping Manager is responsible for maintaining a neat and organized housekeeping and laundry area and is responsible for the security of the hotel linen and supplies inventory. The Housekeeping Manager’s focus on guest and associate satisfaction, expense control and product quality and will lead to their contribution to the overall goals of the hotel. Duties include delivering on the promise of Sonesta Service, managing according to Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards, creating processes and procedures to ensure proper supply and cleanliness, training staff, leading delivery of clean rooms, partnering with Operations and Executive Housekeeper on staffing and disciplinary actions, inspecting suites and public areas, performing housekeeping duties, managing laundry operations, maintaining inventory, ensuring security of lost and found items, promoting teamwork, enforcing hotel standards and policies, acting as Manager on duty as required, ensuring compliance with laws regarding health and safety, and performing other duties as assigned. Qualifications include open availability, high school diploma or equivalent, five years housekeeping experience with supervisory experience preferred, English fluency, reading and writing skills, mathematical skills, problem solving, organizational and training abilities, ability to prioritize work, Microsoft Office experience preferred, physical ability to perform cleaning tasks and handle equipment and chemicals. The pay range is $58,000 to $62,400 per year.
