Job Description

The Industrial Engineer will develop and sustain efficient operational methods for engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain that eliminate wastefulness, reduce costs, maintain quality standards and improve profitability.

Responsibilities not limited to:

1. Develop & maintain manufacturing methods within the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to ensure accurate costing and planning.

  • Develop and maintain the Methods of Manufacture (MOM) “Bill of Materials & Bill of Operations” for products within the ERP system
  • Accurately measure work by performing time studies, work sampling, and other predetermined time standard methods
  • Establish new products in the ERP system to ensure proper material transactions and cost setting.
  • Phase-in methods and product structure changes for existing products in the ERP system from Engineering Change Notices (ECN’s)

2. Develop production solutions that reduce product cost, ensure product quality, and safe working environment.

  • Perform value stream analysis, sequence of steps, or other process documentation formats to identify and improve work methods
  • Develop balanced process flows utilizing lean principles
  • Perform spatial analysis for material requirements and material presentation to assembly operations
  • Develop floor layouts utilizing CAD tools
  • Design assembly tools and fixtures required for mechanical assembly
  • Investigate and implement other manufacturing processes for efficient production
  • Assist production management with compliance of health and safety requirements and best

3. Ensure efficient deployment of the engineering module within the ERP system.

  • Review ERP system capabilities and enhancements for appropriate application in manufacturing operations
  • Work with leadership to engineer data migration into the ERP system
  • Provide system software training and support to team members

4. Observe, troubleshoot, and take action in production to ensure accuracy.

  • Review and audit job orders to ensure accurate time reporting and material transactions
  • Analyze material transactions to maintain system accuracy
  • Provide training and instructions to production ensuring safe and efficient operations
  • Develop procedures, and work instructions with supporting documentation
  • Work with Quality Assurance (QA) to resolve material rejections and develop corrective

5. Provide backup for Planner Buyer.

  • Produce job orders and travelers within operations and suppliers.
  • Develop production plans to meet sales order requirements.
  • Ensure material transactions are executed properly, accurately, and timely.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • 4–5 years in Industrial Engineering; proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Skilled in data and database management, statistics, and process improvement (Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, Lean).
  • Knowledge of material properties, manufacturing processes, and strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
