ProSidian Seeks a Spanish Translator - Transportation Safety [Key Personnel | Program Manager - Exempt 874-1 Consultant] located: The United States to provide Transportation Sector related Other Solutions for National Survey of Attitudes and Beliefs on Driving, Drinking, and Drug Use on behalf of U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). These services are considered part of The ProSidian Transport & Logistics Sector Group with overall focus being Transport & Logistics (TLT) Sector Group: Solutions To Move Transport & Logistics Strategy Forward. for clients such as National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

ProSidian, an innovative management and consulting firm, is seeking a skilled and culturally sensitive Spanish Language Translator to contribute to a transformative initiative focused on comprehending drivers' attitudes and behaviors related to alcohol and non-alcohol drug use. The Spanish Translator will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and effective translation of survey materials between English and Spanish, facilitating inclusive data collection.

The Spanish Translator is a linguistics professional who accurately translates written English into written Spanish, and written Spanish into written English. A translator translates the tone and meaning of a written English survey to a written Spanish survey and interprets any written Spanish comments in written English. A Translator must be proficient enough in both languages to accurately translate between English and Spanish written languages.

As part of a collaborative venture with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), we are seeking a seasoned and adept team member to work on a comprehensive survey project aimed at enhancing road safety and reducing the risks associated with impaired driving. This unique opportunity allows you to play a pivotal role in a research initiative that aligns with our mission to create impactful change. Responsibilities and Duties

  • Accurately translate written survey materials from English to Spanish and vice versa, maintaining the tone and meaning of the content.
  • Collaborate closely with the project team to ensure linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance in translated materials.
  • Interpret written Spanish comments in written English, ensuring accurate representation of participant responses.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of translated materials to identify and rectify any linguistic or contextual discrepancies.
  • Contribute to the production of high-quality survey materials, enabling seamless data collection from Spanish-speaking participants.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Translation, or a related field.
  • Native or near-native proficiency in both English and Spanish.
  • Proven experience in translation and language interpretation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and cultural sensitivity.
  • Strong written communication skills in both languages.

  • Must be able to understand and communicate in both the written and spoken words of both Spanish & English in the specialized field of Transportation Engineering and shall have the specialized knowledge and experience described below.
  • Must have high level of analytical skills
