We are seeking a Sr. Internal Auditor to join WEX’s Global Internal Audit team to lead and execute internal audit assignments including integrated audits and advisory engagements. Internal Audit is central to WEX’s continued growth. The team works closely with senior management to identify and evaluate key business risks and recommend actions to mitigate risks while improving and maturing processes. The focus is on process improvements of operational internal audits, including data analytics to help mature systems and processes, increasing efficiency and scalability while maintaining internal controls to mitigate risks. Reporting to the Director of Internal Audit, this individual will conduct audits of WEX’s processes and procedures ensuring controls are designed and operating effectively to mitigate risk while also resulting in efficient use of resources. The role involves working closely with internal audit teams and other WEX functional teams to identify process and system gaps and areas of improvement. Responsibilities include participating in the development, planning, and execution of the annual Audit Plan; working with management to plan audit engagements; designing and leading audits and projects to evaluate risk management and identify best practices; utilizing data analytics tools for audit planning and fieldwork; writing audit reports and presenting results and recommendations to management; performing ad hoc appraisals, inspections, investigations, or reviews as requested; and identifying opportunities to progress Corporate Audit activities including control automation and risk identification. Requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; two to five years of progressive audit experience; CPA or CIA certification or active candidate status; strong communication and analytical skills; innovative thinking and problem-solving abilities; collaboration and negotiation skills; and knowledge of data analytics tools and audit management software is a plus.
