Job Summary:
We’re looking for an experienced and motivated General Sales Manager to lead our dealership’s variable operations, including both new and pre-owned vehicle sales. The GSM is responsible for driving the overall sales strategy, coaching and developing the sales management team, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience throughout the sales process. This individual will play a key role in forecasting, planning, setting department goals, and helping the dealership meet and exceed performance targets.

Compensation: $130,000.00 – $150,000.00 (based on experience and performance)
General Sales Manager Responsibilities:
Lead the daily operations of the sales department, including new and used vehicle sales
Hire, develop, and manage a team of sales managers and sales consultants
Set and manage performance goals for the sales team to meet dealership objectives
Drive business growth by analyzing market trends, adjusting sales strategy, and managing inventory effectively
Partner with other department heads to ensure a smooth and cohesive customer experience
Create and implement sales promotions and campaigns in collaboration with the marketing team
Conduct regular sales meetings and one-on-ones to provide coaching and motivation
Ensure compliance with all dealership policies, manufacturer programs, and state/federal laws
Monitor customer satisfaction and work to resolve any escalated concerns promptly
General Sales Manager Requirements:
3+ years of experience in automotive sales leadership (GSM or Sales Manager role preferred)
Proven track record of growing sales volume and improving gross profit
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Strong understanding of automotive CRM tools, desking software, and DMS platforms
Ability to motivate and hold team members accountable to performance standards
High level of professionalism and integrity
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
