Job Description

The Non-State Tested Nursing Assistant (NSTNA) is responsible for performing the day-to-day activities of the nursing department in accordance with regulatory guidelines. Essential functions include assisting with lifting, positioning and transporting residents; assisting residents in ambulation; performing restorative and rehabilitative procedures; ensuring call lights are within reach and answered promptly; checking residents who cannot call for help; meeting residents’ personal care needs; reporting changes in residents' condition; changing bed linens; maintaining cleanliness of resident units and related areas; identifying and reporting abnormal skin conditions; turning bedfast residents; providing Range of Motion exercises; assisting with adaptive devices and food service procedures; following safety and security guidelines; maintaining effective communication with residents and families; providing care with appropriate dementia care protocols; participating in educational and training activities; documenting accurately and timely in Point Click Care; and performing other duties as assigned. Education required is High School Graduate or GED preferred, Nurse Aide Training required. No prior experience necessary. Must have an active certificate from Ohio Department of Health's Nurse Aide Training Competency Evaluation Program (NATCEP) or eligibility to enter such program and pass state competency evaluation within 120 days of employment. Must maintain mandatory certifications and be able to communicate effectively in English. Special care/dementia care training required for relevant employees. Must be able to work with elderly residents and adhere to company policies.
