A dynamic educational environment is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support students in a K-12 setting in Virginia Beach, VA. This contract position runs from August 11, 2025, to June 1, 2026, offering the opportunity to work with a diverse student population, primarily focusing on older high school students.

Key Qualifications:

• Graduation from high school supplemented by training in sign language interpretation.
• Considerable experience as a sign language interpreter.
• Eligibility to obtain a Virginia Quality Assurance Screening Level III or its equivalent upon hiring.
• VQAS Level II certification holders have two years from the date of hire to attain Level III certification.

Responsibilities:

• Provide interpretation services in one-on-one and classroom settings as needed.
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to facilitate effective communication for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
• Adapt interpreting techniques to meet the varying needs of students.
• Participate in educational team meetings and contribute to the development of supportive learning strategies.
• Complete any required documentation and maintain professional standards.
